Indian Trail High School and Academy students are participating in beep baseball during gym class this month. The equipment, on loan from Vision Forward in Milwaukee, allows both individuals with a visual impairment to participate in the sport while also giving gen ed students an opportunity to experience a temporary visual impairment by being blindfolded during the activity and relying on the beeps of the ball and bases. Students practiced a lot of cooperation and communication to help their teams succeed. Special shoutout to 91ÖÆƬ³§ Specially Designed Physical Education teacher Becca Wandsnider and 91ÖÆƬ³§ Visual Impairment teachers Brian and Jackie Hennig for working together to bring this experience to our students and to Ms. Lequia’s PE class for participating!
